Customizing Your Card Design

This guide covers everything in the Pass Design page of SleekPass. Open it by clicking Pass Design in the left navigation of your Shopify admin.

The first section has two fields:

  • Store Name — pre-filled with your shop name. This appears on every card. Change it if you want a different brand name on the card (e.g., “Bean & Brew” instead of “bean-and-brew”).
  • Logo — upload a square image (512x512px or larger). The logo appears rectangular on Apple Wallet cards and circular on Google Wallet cards. If you skip this, SleekPass generates a monogram from your store initials automatically.

The Colors section controls the color scheme for both platforms.

Quick start: Pick a color preset from the row of circular swatches at the top (labeled “Quick start — pick a color scheme”). Clicking a swatch sets all color values for both Apple and Google cards at once.

Manual control: Below the presets, you can set individual colors:

  • Apple Wallet has three color pickers: Background, Text, and Labels. If the contrast between Background and Text is too low, a warning banner appears.
  • Google Wallet has one color picker: Background. Google automatically selects the text color based on your background.

Each color picker shows a native color swatch alongside a hex text input (e.g., #00704A), so you can either click to pick or type a precise brand color.

Both the Apple Wallet and Google Wallet sections have a Fields area where you choose what customer data appears on the card. Each field slot has a dropdown to select the data type and a text input to customize the label.

If you have customer metafields defined in Shopify, they also appear in the dropdown under a “Metafields” separator.

Apple Wallet fields:

  • Header (Top Right) — one field slot. Appears at the top right of the card, next to the logo.
  • Body Left and Body Right — two field slots side by side, below the strip image.

Google Wallet fields:

  • Row 1 Left and Row 1 Right — the primary data row on the card (mapped to loyalty points and secondary points).
  • Row 2 Left and Row 2 Right — a secondary data row below.

The Program Name field in the Google Wallet section is required (defaults to “Rewards”). It appears as the subtitle below your store name on the Google card. Common choices: “Rewards”, “VIP Club”, “Loyalty”.

  • Strip Image (Apple Wallet section) — a banner image displayed between the header and fields. Recommended size: 1125x432px.
  • Hero Image (Google Wallet section) — a banner at the bottom of the card. Recommended size: 1032x336px.

Both use a drag-and-drop upload area. After uploading, a thumbnail preview appears with a Remove button.

Both the Apple Wallet and Google Wallet sections show a live preview on the right side that updates as you make changes. A note below each preview reads “Preview is approximate.”

Below each preview, there is a “Download test card” button:

  • Apple: Downloads a real .pkpass file that you can open on your Mac or iPhone.
  • Google: Opens the Google Wallet save link in a new tab so you can add a test card to your Google Wallet.

Use these to verify your design before going live.

When you have made changes, the Save button in the top right of the page becomes active. Click it to save. A toast notification confirms “Settings saved.”
