Show Rewards & Loyalty Fields on Your Pass

SleekPass can display your customers’ loyalty points or VIP tier on their wallet pass — but only if your rewards app publishes that data to Shopify in a way other apps can read. Rewards apps differ a lot here, so this guide explains what to turn on for each one.

Your rewards app stores each customer’s points/tier. For SleekPass to put it on the pass, the app has to do two things:

  1. Sync the value to a Shopify customer metafield. Most apps call this “sync metafields” and it’s usually off by default — you turn it on in the rewards app’s settings.
  2. Allow other apps to read it. Some apps keep the synced field private to themselves; you have to enable “third-party / storefront access” so SleekPass can read it.

Once both are on, the field appears automatically in Pass Design → any field dropdown in SleekPass, and its value shows on the pass.

Find your app below and follow its doc. After enabling, give it a few minutes to sync, then reopen Pass Design in SleekPass.

Some apps publish the customer’s tier as a Shopify customer tag instead of a metafield. SleekPass automatically detects tier tags from Leat, Yotpo, and LoyaltyLion (they use a consistent tag format) — no setup needed; the “…tier” field just appears in the picker.

* Growave and BON let you name the tier tag yourself, so there’s no consistent format for us to recognize automatically. If your tier isn’t showing, contact us and we’ll help.

Using a different app? If it can sync loyalty data to a Shopify customer metafield with public/read access, SleekPass will pick it up. If it can’t, the value lives only inside that app and can’t be placed on the pass. Contact us and we’ll check your specific app.

  • Give it time. Metafield sync isn’t always instant — some apps take a few minutes to hours.
  • The customer needs data. A field only appears once at least one recent customer actually has that value (e.g. has earned points or reached a tier). A brand-new test customer with no points won’t surface it.
  • Check both switches. The most common cause is that sync is on but third-party access is off.
  • Smile points specifically can’t be shown — Smile only syncs the VIP tier, not the points balance.

The dropdown shows the field’s technical name (e.g. avada_joy.point). Pick it, then type a friendly label (like “POINTS” or “VIP”) in the field next to it — that label is what your customers see on the pass.
